Brighton Theater Royal

The Theater Royal is one of the oldest theatres in Brighton and hosts musicals, plays, opera, and ballet throughout the year. There are many theatres in Brighton, but the Theatre Royal has a special history. The theatre is over 200 hundred years old – first built in 1806 and performed Shakespeare’s Hamlet as its first show. There is a capacity of 952 seats.

A brief history 

In 2007 the theater was visited by the Queen for its 200th anniversary and had a box in the theater renamed to Queen Elizabeth II Box.

The theatre experienced trouble during the pandemic when everything shut down, but it is back and there are so many great shows to look forward to for the Theatre fans.
