The Brighton Pavilion

The Brighton Pavilion is a beautiful historic made from a mixed visual style of India and China. building in the center of Brighton.

The Brighton Pavilion is near Old Steine and is a short commute from Brighton station, it is also just a 10-minute walk from the Pier. Not to mention it is only a 10-minute walk from Churchill Square shopping center.

A brief history

As a brief history. The Pavilion was formerly a seaside home belonging to George, Prince of Wales. The architect behind the building’s unique design is John Nash. Later on, Queen Victoria decided that Osborne House should be the royal seaside retreat. So, the Pavilion was sold to Brighton in 1850. As of the 1st of October 2020, the management of the Pavilion and museum buildings were transferred from Brighton City Council to the Royal Pavilion & Museum’s trust.

The Royal Pavilion Garden has a variety of plants under organic guidelines using natural planting techniques and organic compost.

What can I do there?

If you are looking for something exciting to do, check out the ice rink. At night, particularly during Christmas, it is a magical experience. The rink supports beginners and those who are more confident. The Pavilion’s energy is powered entirely by green energy. It is a great experience and definitely worth it. At the moment it is closed but be sure to keep checking the website.
